The seminar will include a 2 hour class covering Savate- kickboxing taught by instructors Graham Thorn and Cédric Vilella. This will be followed by a 1 hour class presenting the Pierre Vigny method of French cane fighting / la canne as taught by Savate instructor Craig Gemeiner.
This is a rare opportunity to learn authentic Savate from 3 of the country’s leading instructors.
Graham Thorn is the vice president of the Australian Savate Federation and has competed in several world and European Savate tournaments. In 2000 Graham made the finals of world Savate championships held in France. A former member of ‘Spectrum’- one of England’s strongest Savate clubs, Graham is currently the head coach at the Darwin Savate club and continues to promote Savate within Australia by teaching authentic French boxing.

Cédric Vilella achieved his Savate teaching diploma in Paris and is well versed in the latest developments of the sport. A full contact Savate fighter Cédric has competed at regional level tournaments in France. As an active coach he has taught Savate seminars and classes in Sydney and Queensland and has been a driving force in Savate development within Australia.

Craig Gemeiner is the president and technical director of the Australian Savate Federation. In 2008 he captained the first Australian team to ever compete at the world Savate championships in Paris. In 2005 he won the Asian Pacific savate championships in the 65kg- 70kg division. Along with French kick boxing, Craig teaches the classical skills of Defense dans la Rue and La canne Vigny.
